G-Shot in Busan

The "G-Shot" is an injection, usually of hyaluronic acid filler or collagen, into the front wall of the vagina in the area sometimes called the G-spot. It is marketed to increase sexual arousal. Here is a neutral look at what it involves and what is known.

What it is

G-spot amplification involves injecting a small volume of filler into the anterior vaginal wall to make the area more prominent. It is done in the clinic in a few minutes, often with local anesthetic. The filler is gradually absorbed, so clinics usually suggest repeat injections.

What the evidence shows

There is very little evidence that the G-Shot works. Researchers still debate whether the G-spot is a distinct anatomical structure, and there are no good-quality controlled trials showing that injections improve arousal or orgasm. Professional bodies, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, have cautioned that procedures like this lack evidence of safety and effectiveness.

Things to try first

Concerns about arousal or orgasm are common and usually have more than one cause. More reliable options include:

  • A gynecology check for pain, infection, dryness or hormonal changes.
  • Lubricants and, after menopause, vaginal estrogen; see sexual health after menopause .
  • Reviewing medicines (some antidepressants affect orgasm).
  • Sex therapy or couples counseling.

Risks

Possible side effects include pain, bleeding, infection, lumps or nodules, urinary symptoms and, rarely, filler moving to other tissue. Injecting filler into a blood vessel is a rare but serious risk with any filler procedure.

Cost and insurance

The G-Shot is elective and self-pay; Korea's National Health Insurance does not cover it. Cost depends mainly on the product and volume used and how often you return. Ask what brand of filler is used and for a written quote.

When to get help sooner

After an injection, see a doctor promptly for fever, worsening pain, pus, a hard painful lump, or trouble urinating. Go to an ER for heavy bleeding.

G-Shot FAQ

  • Does the G-Shot work?

There is no strong evidence that it improves arousal or orgasm. Any reported benefit comes from small, uncontrolled reports.

  • How long does it last?

Hyaluronic acid filler is absorbed over months, so any effect is temporary. Clinics typically recommend repeat injections.

  • How is it different from the O-Shot?

The G-Shot typically uses filler to add volume; the O-Shot uses platelet-rich plasma from your own blood. Both have limited evidence.

  • Is it covered by insurance?

No. It is elective and self-pay under Korea's NHI.
